Google said on Thursday it will take part as an official artificial intelligence companion in the citywide culture project 'BTS The City Arirang Busan', which runs across Busan through June 21, and operate Gemini-based experience programmes.

Through the project, Google will run personalised travel itinerary planning, voice-based real-time local information guidance and interactive digital missions at major tourist hubs such as Busan Station, Haeundae and Blueline Park. At Haeundae Blueline Park, a Sky Capsule wrapped in Gemini's signature colour will operate. At the Mipo Station Gemini booth, it will give out photo cards and luggage tags.

Gemini will be formally integrated as a partner app into the stamp rally page within the global fan platform Weverse. This is the first case in which a partner app has been formally included in the official stamp rally course for the BTS The City Arirang project within Weverse. Participants can earn digital stamps by talking with Gemini on the theme of Korean traditions and culture on Weverse.

A Google official said it is an example that shows new possibilities for AI to help people experience cities and culture in an immersive way, beyond simply searching for information. The official said Google hopes visitors to Busan will naturally discover the city's diverse charms through Gemini.
