SKT steps up push to build AI highway as CDMA turns 30

SK Telecom is stepping up efforts to spread new communications technology beyond the 30th anniversary of CDMA commercialisation. ETRI marks 50th anniversary, cites 494 trillion won industrial ripple effect

Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute marked its 50th anniversary on Tuesday with a ceremony at its headquarters in Daejeon. ETRI reviewed half a century of ICT research and development and presented a vision for the next 50 years. The institute said industrial and economic ripple effects over the past 50 years total about 494 trillion won. It highlighted core technologies including TDX, DRAM, CDMA, mobile systems and AI, and awarded a researcher prize.
