LG Uplus said on Tuesday it will run services and benefits tailored to customers’ holiday plans such as overseas travel and homecoming trips for the Chuseok holiday.

For customers travelling overseas, it will provide roaming services. LG Uplus will run the '2026 U+ Roaming In-flight WiFi Event' through the end of this year. 5G roaming is available in 100 countries and autonomous territories worldwide. If 5G service is difficult due to local networks or supported devices, connections switch to LTE or 3G.

Roaming Call on the AI calling app Iksio can also be used overseas. Roaming Call allows customers subscribed to LG Uplus roaming plans or using WiFi to make voice calls overseas without additional international calling charges. It has been available in about 170 countries since starting in Japan in July.

It will also run smart home services for customers who leave home for long periods due to homecoming trips or travel. Home Cam Light, launched this month, provides QHD quality and AI detection for 5,500 won a month on a three-year contract. It applies a security chip, video encryption and two-step authentication, and includes insurance that compensates for fire and video hacking damage.

For customers spending the holiday at home, it also prepared AI and content subscription benefits. LG Uplus will offer discounts of up to 5,000 won to customers using its AI and content subscription products for the first time through Sept. 30. Eligible products receive bill discounts of up to 45 percent.

On ChatGPT, it will also provide a 'Uplus' plugin that lets users check information on its online-only plan called Nugget. Users can view Nugget plan information in the ChatGPT chat window, including data allowances, monthly fees and key benefits.

Its membership program 'Upltoople' will provide partner benefits targeting Chuseok demand for grocery shopping, dining out and outings. It prepared shopping benefits with Kurly, Sajo Mall and Ottogi Mall, as well as benefits related to lodging, culture and dining. On Sept. 24, it will offer E Mart 24 discounts to long-term customers.
