Nvidia CEO dismisses AI risk talk as fear marketing to sell security products
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang dismissed the recent debate over AI risks as a tactic to create new cybersecurity demand, Axios reported. Speaking at a Goldman Sachs conference, he said the industry was preparing new products and that there was no better way to create demand than to create a problem. The controversy intensified after an Anthropic researcher resigned and warned that AI could destroy humanity. A Michigan professor said Huang has self-interest, but his narrative is being overtaken by fear-based claims.

AI spread drives surge in public service submissions in U.S. and UK

Similar rises appeared in Brazil and Germany.

OpenAI halts new Pro subscriptions amid surge in Astra demand
OpenAI has temporarily stopped new subscriptions to its $200-a-month Pro plan after a surge in demand for its latest AI model, Astra. TechCrunch reported on Sept. 10 that OpenAI is starting with the Pro tier, which it said creates the biggest system load, as infrastructure pressure increases. Executive Thibault Sottiaux said the company chose the smallest measure to keep access for existing users. OpenAI did not disclose how long the pause will last or provide demand figures.
