XRP has remained stuck in a $1.25 to $1.60 range for 10 weeks despite recent tailwinds from its expanding ecosystem.

On Oct. 23, blockchain media outlet The Crypto Basic reported that the market is concluding that technical price structure is exerting a stronger influence than short-term positive news.

Analyst ChartNerd said in a post on X, formerly Twitter, that XRP is moving between resistance at $1.50 to $1.60 and support at $1.25 to $1.30. He cited chart structure, not a lack of ecosystem drivers, as the reason successive price gains have not emerged.

ChartNerd said XRP has formed a parallel channel between the 20-week and 50-week exponential moving averages for about two months. He viewed the zone as a price compression process that appeared after a 70 percent surge in August.

XRP has recently moved closer again to the lower boundary. After being pushed back around $1.50 in early October, it failed to regain that level and repeatedly rebounded briefly before falling again.

ChartNerd assessed the sideways movement as a "normal technical development" after a surge. He said the next direction depends on whether key resistance and support levels are broken. He added that a decisive move above $1.50 to $1.60 could allow buyers to regain control and open room for further gains.

If XRP breaks below the $1.25 to $1.30 support zone, downward pressure could intensify. The zone has repeatedly prevented declines during the recent correction. With XRP trading around $1.32, the question of whether support holds has become more important.

Some XRP holders are also voicing complaints about why positive progress in the ecosystem is not translating into an immediate price rise. But ChartNerd drew a line, saying news flow and technical price moves do not always go together in the short term. He said ecosystem development can support the long-term outlook, but chart structure is the direct variable determining current price action.

That leaves a clear short-term focus. XRP's next trend is expected to hinge on whether it breaks above $1.50 to $1.60 or maintains support at $1.25 to $1.30. ChartNerd stressed that attention should be on the current trading range and confirmation of an actual breakout, rather than speculation on social media.

I honestly get it.. The last 10 weeks of $XRP price action have been frustrating say the least. We are caught between a $1.50/60 resistance ceiling, and a $1.30/25 support floor. People are asking questions as to why we are receiving such good news and developments, with no direct price increase correlation. The answer is simple This is where technicals come in. For the last two months, price has been stuck between two critical weekly EMA's (20/50) while forming a parallel channel. This is what compression looks like on a multi-month scale after a 70% move to the upside, and It's actually quite normal to witness from a technical perspective. The KEY takeaway: Enjoy the developments as they unfold. They are positive for our ecosystem and its future, but please ignore the noise on the socials. This structure is what needs attention, and we must now watch for one of two things: 1) Either a clean break of the resistance wall for continuation higher. 2) A loss of the support floor for continuation lower. Confirmation matters. For the time being, we will continue to witness chop between these price ranges until one of them breaks or gives way #NFA
