iPhone to add Google Gemini, eight key AI features to upgraded Siri
The iPhone is set to incorporate Google’s generative AI Gemini and be reborn as a conversational assistant, with Apple signalling a major upgrade to Siri through cooperation with Google. A report listed eight key features expected to arrive, including enhanced emotional support, more accurate and natural answers, document drafting and summarising in Apple Notes, help with travel bookings, better handling of ambiguous requests, storytelling, remembering past conversations and proactive suggestions such as optimal departure times.

MSIT holds Digital Learning Hub forum to review 2025 results
South Korea's Ministry of Science and ICT held a Digital Learning Hub performance dissemination forum in Seoul on Tuesday to review 2025 operating results and share outstanding training cases. The ministry said it has provided AI and digital basic competency training through the programme since 2020, with 4.33 million cumulative participants. It said 910,000 people took courses in 2025, and 71.7 percent of learners were aged 60 or older.

U.S. Supreme Court again delays ruling on legality of Trump's tariffs
The U.S. Supreme Court did not issue a ruling on Jan. 20 on whether President Donald Trump’s reciprocal tariffs are legal. It handed down decisions in only three cases, including a medical lawsuit, and the tariff case was not included. The court also did not release a schedule. A dispute centers on whether a president can exercise taxation powers, an authority of Congress, without limit on national security grounds. Importers have challenged the measures in court.
