EVs can go farther than EPA-rated range as driving habits make the difference

Some EV owners say their real-world driving range exceeds estimates set by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, depending on speed, acceleration, regenerative braking and temperature. Drivers of Ford's E-Transit van reported summer ranges of about 140 to 150 miles versus an EPA rating of 116 miles, even with cargo. The EPA says it adjusts lab results downward to reflect real conditions, using correction factors and a combined city-highway weighting to produce its standardised estimate.

Nvidia targets AI data centre war beyond GPU fight

Nvidia's AI edge is expanding beyond the performance and supply of its GPUs to system capabilities that coordinate entire data centres, an assessment says. As AI computing scales to gigawatt levels, efficiently linking memory, storage, networks and data flows is becoming critical to performance and cost. The shift is reflected in Nvidia’s strategy to build integrated data centre systems, including its next-generation Vera Rubin architecture combining GPUs, CPUs, accelerators, storage and networking racks.

Socar merges two corporate plans, adds always-on discounts

Socar said on Tuesday it has revamped the business profile pricing plans of its corporate membership service, Socar Enterprise, to boost demand from business users. The company simplified its previous four plans into two, Basic and Plus, and introduced always-on additional discounts instead of issuing monthly discount coupons. The payment price bands remain unchanged, while new weekday and weekend discounts apply depending on the plan.
