Shinhan Bank releases brand video spotlighting life after retirement

Shinhan Bank said on Thursday it released a brand film for its senior-focused brand, Shinhan SOL Mate, on its official YouTube channel. The video, titled “Parents, Your Story,” features stories of a parents’ generation preparing for a new life after retirement. It spotlights their lives, dreams and a second chapter. The bank also said it is running a Family Month event aimed at senior customers’ retirement preparation and demand for gifts to grandchildren.

SoftBank pushes to develop in-house AI servers with Nvidia, Foxconn

SoftBank is discussing plans with Nvidia and Foxconn to produce AI servers in Japan, Reuters reported, citing Nikkei. SoftBank aims to assemble servers using externally procured parts, build a production system before 2030 and eventually internalise the entire manufacturing process. The company plans to focus on high-performance servers that can run high-performance GPUs at high speed. Nikkei said the project could be announced as early as Monday.

Kraken parent Payward to buy Hong Kong stablecoin payments firm Reap for $600 million

Payward, the parent of cryptocurrency exchange Kraken, will acquire Hong Kong-based stablecoin payments company Reap Technologies for $600 million, Bloomberg News reported on May 7. The purchase price will be paid in cash and stock. As part of the transaction, Payward will issue new shares valuing the company at $20 billion. Reap supports cross-border payments between businesses using stablecoins and has built infrastructure targeting Asian markets.
