KT is launching an 'AI for All' consortium to deliver AI services that the public can experience and will unveil a beta service in October.

KT held a launch ceremony for the 'AI for All' consortium on Sept. 21 at KT's Gwanghwamun WEST building in Jongno district, Seoul, and will activate a business cooperation framework, it said on Sept. 22.

The event was attended by CEOs of key consortium companies including KT and project managers from 16 participating companies. KT and participating firms will operate the 'Eum Alliance' to combine technology and service capabilities to deliver AI services that anyone can use easily and conveniently.

The Eum Alliance consists of the decision-making body 'Eum Connect Board', which sets the main direction of the business, and the 'Eum Ecoround', a broader consultative body. Participating organisations will regularly review progress and results and jointly manage the service launch schedule and inter-agency coordination tasks.

It will also operate separate working groups to execute service and technology areas. The service group will be responsible for user-centred AI service planning, user experience design, and linking and launching public and specialised services. The platform group will handle integration and linkage of core technologies including AI models, Token Factory, data, infrastructure and application programming interfaces.

The KT consortium plans to unveil an 'AI for All' beta service in October based on the 'Eum Inside' strategy. Eum Inside is an open AI ecosystem that embeds AI into various services used by customers and connects them to a general-purpose AI agent.

AI for All is a business that offers various AI models and services on a single platform. Users will be able to use a range of AI services, including information search as well as public services, education, finance and everyday conveniences, through the platforms and services they already use.

Jin-hyung Lee (이진형), executive director and head of KT's AX Business Division, said the consortium launch was a starting point for building AI services that the public can experience by bringing together AI models, platforms and service capabilities held by domestic AI companies. He said KT will strengthen cooperation with participating firms and improve execution to deliver AI services people can feel in everyday life.
