6 online lending firms call for standards for big conglomerate and large platform entry

Six online investment-linked lending firms that participate in financial institution-linked investments said separate standards are needed as major conglomerates and large financial platforms and institutions prepare to enter the sector. They said conflicts of interest and distorted competition could arise, especially if a powerful group runs both loan comparison and brokerage services and online lending. They also said current caps and approval procedures limit new funding, risking intensified competition for limited resources.

Woori Bank's WooriWON Mobile Chuseok event offers up to six months of mobile bill benefits

Woori Bank's telecommunications service WooriWON Mobile is offering mobile bill support, points and other benefits in September for customers who subscribe to certain plans. The bank said it will run a Chuseok-themed event, providing 30,000 won in Naver Pay and monthly membership coupons worth 5,000 won to customers who open service during the month. Customers subscribing to 15 plans will receive points for six months, and referrals will also earn points.
