Mirae Asset Securities' Q2 retirement pension reserves rise by 9.58 trillion won

Mirae Asset Securities said its retirement pension reserves rose by 9.58 trillion won in the second quarter, the largest increase among retirement pension providers. Total retirement pension market reserves increased by 45.14 trillion won in the same period, with Mirae Asset accounting for 21.2 percent of the rise. First-half reserves increased by about 14 trillion won, up 36.5 percent from the start of the year. Total pension assets reached 80.81 trillion won as of end-June.

Shinhan Investment Securities invests in Canton Network operator Digital Asset

Shinhan Investment Securities has invested in Digital Asset, the operator of the institutional blockchain Canton Network, to expand cooperation in digital assets and tokenisation. The firm said it participated as an investor together with Shinhan Venture Investment. The investment was made by joining a $355 million funding round led by a16z Crypto. Digital Asset, founded in 2014, operates Canton Network, a public layer-1 blockchain designed for financial institutions.

Hana Securities launches foreign integrated account trading with Futu Securities

Hana Securities has started foreign integrated account trading with Hong Kong financial platform Futu Securities, aiming to broaden Asian investors' access to South Korea's stock market. The scheme lets non-resident foreigners trade and settle Korean shares through their local broker without opening a separate account at a Korean securities firm. Hana Securities said it plans to expand the service to other brokers, including Citic Securities in Hong Kong and Wedbush Securities in the United States.
