KakaoPay launches automatic rate-cut application service

KakaoPay said on Tuesday it will start an automatic rate-cut application service that identifies the best time to lower a user’s loan interest and applies on the user’s behalf. Users can apply from Feb. 4, and the service will start on Feb. 23. Once registered, the system detects improvements in credit and submits rate-cut requests. It also provides guidance if a request is rejected, using MyData-based information.

NHN Waplat steps up AI daily living support service, expansion to about 40 local governments this year

NHN’s senior-care subsidiary Waplat said on Tuesday it has begun full provision of its AI daily living support aide service after completing a pilot project with the Korea Association of Senior Welfare Centers. The service uses a generative large language model to provide conversation and regularly check seven major risk factors including mood and sleep. A trial from November at 10 institutions involved seniors with an average age of 77.2. Waplat plans to expand the service to about 40 local governments this year.

JoyCity ends global closed beta test for Freestyle Football 2 ahead of first-half launch

JoyCity said on Tuesday it has completed a global closed beta test for Freestyle Football 2, a new soccer game being developed by its subsidiary URE. The four-day test ran from Jan. 30 to Feb. 2 on Xbox and PlayStation consoles for users worldwide. JoyCity said participants praised console-optimised controls, cross-platform server support and 5-on-5 strategic play. It plans further improvements and a simultaneous Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 release in the first half.
