LG Uplus posts 2025 operating profit of 892.1 billion won, up 3.4 percent

LG Uplus said on Feb. 5 it posted 2025 revenue of 15.45 trillion won and operating profit of 892.1 billion won on a consolidated basis, up 5.7 percent and 3.4 percent from a year earlier. Net profit rose 61.9 percent to 509.2 billion won and EBITD increased 1.8 percent to 3.59 trillion won. Mobile revenue climbed 3.7 percent to 6.67 trillion won and total wireless subscriptions topped 30 million. AIDC revenue rose 18.4 percent to 422.0 billion won.

Toss Securities says January domestic stock turnover tops 70 trillion won, up 136 percent from previous month

Toss Securities said on Wednesday that the value of domestic stock trades in January topped 70 trillion won, the highest since the company was founded. The figure rose 136 percent from December to 70.2 trillion won. It also said cumulative domestic-stock trading customers increased about 1.5 times from the previous month, while cumulative net deposits rose 3.4 times month on month and nearly six-fold versus November.

Korbit introduces KYC verification via mobile ID

Korbit said on Feb. 5 it introduced a customer identification (KYC) method using mobile identification to strengthen customer convenience. The service allows identity verification through the Ministry of the Interior and Safety's mobile ID app on a smartphone without a physical resident registration card or driver's licence. Korbit said app integration enables immediate authentication and completion of KYC procedures. It said the mobile ID applies blockchain-based DID technology to prevent forgery or tampering of personal information.
