KakaoBank, Toss Bank team up with Seoul police to prevent youth cyber gambling

KakaoBank and Toss Bank will work with the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency to build a prevention system that blocks suspected youth cyber-gambling transfers at the remittance stage. The system links gambling risk information confirmed by police with banks’ risk management systems to issue warnings and restrict transfers during financial transactions, and connects users to counselling and treatment and recovery support. The three parties also plan to share suspicious account information and provide guidance through mobile apps.

FSC seeks to expand Miso Finance as banks and firms pledge 800 billion won

South Korea\'s financial authorities plan to expand Miso Finance support using 800 billion won pledged by banks and companies. The Financial Services Commission aims to raise annual supply from about 300 billion won to 600 billion won by 2028 and broaden tailored products for financially vulnerable groups such as young delivery platform workers and returning farmers. Seven institutions joined the pledge, and NH NongHyup Financial will create a new foundation focused on rural borrowers.

Employment-ban worker with sex crime record found at Gwacheon science museum, dismissed

A worker at the National Gwacheon Science Museum, which is affiliated with South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT, was found to be subject to an employment ban due to a sex crime record and was dismissed. The ministry said the case was not caused by an omission or flaw in pre-employment screening. It said the worker had no issues at hiring but later incurred a new sex crime record and was flagged in a police check.
