South Korea, Vietnam to step up science and technology cooperation, masterplan unveiled

South Korea will move to expand cooperation with Vietnam in advanced fields such as artificial intelligence, semiconductors, secondary batteries and biotech. The Ministry of Science and ICT and the foreign ministry held a Korea-Vietnam science and technology innovation forum in Hanoi with Vietnam’s Ministry of Science and Technology and shared a masterplan for mid- to long-term cooperation. The masterplan focuses on follow-up support for VKIST, joint research, talent development and infrastructure.

Woori Financial steps up productive, inclusive finance, chair vows not to miss \'golden time\'

Woori Financial Group held an April council meeting on financing for advanced strategic industries, chaired by Chairman Lim Jong-ryong (임종룡), to review first-quarter results and second-quarter tasks for its 80 trillion won Future Shared Growth Project. Participants agreed to speed up productive finance amid rising external uncertainty. The group also outlined inclusive finance measures, including loan rate caps and interest relief, and plans to complete a groupwide platform in May.

Korea Exchange to tighten delisting rules from July, add penny stock exit criteria

The Korea Exchange will raise market-cap thresholds for delisting and introduce new exit criteria for so-called penny stocks, as part of follow-up steps to reforms announced in February. From July 1, companies staying below 30 billion won on the KOSPI or 20 billion won on the KOSDAQ will enter delisting procedures. From Jan. 1, 2027, thresholds rise further. The exchange also tightens capital-impairment and disclosure rules.
