SK Broadband to support Social Security Information Service digital shift using SK Telecom AI technology
SK Broadband said on Tuesday it signed a business agreement with SK Telecom and the Korea Social Security Information Service to promote digital innovation in the social security sector and lay foundations for future growth. The three organisations plan to use AI, quantum security and cloud technologies held by SK Broadband and SK Telecom to drive the agency’s digital transformation and advance welfare services. They will form a joint working consultative body and draw up specific implementation plans.

South Korea designates Seoul, Jeonnam-Gwangju and southeast region as quantum clusters
South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT said on Monday it will designate Seoul, Jeonnam-Gwangju, and the Busan-Ulsan-Gyeongnam region as quantum clusters after deliberation and approval by the Quantum Strategy Committee. The initiative aims to link regional industrial bases with quantum technologies to commercialise research outcomes and support corporate growth. The government selected the sites through a public call, evaluations and on-site inspections, and plans to draw up execution plans this year.

National Radio Research Agency marks 60th anniversary, boosts 6G and quantum communications research
South Korea\'s National Radio Research Agency is marking its 60th anniversary by strengthening research into next-generation radio technologies such as 6G, terahertz and quantum communications. It also plans to advance AI-based frequency interference analysis and electromagnetic-wave forecasting technologies, and focus on preparing proactive systems to respond to technological change. The agency held a commemorative ceremony on July 29 at its campus in the Gwangju-Jeonnam joint innovation city.
