NIA to push ahead with WiFi 7 rollout on city buses nationwide
The National Information Society Agency (NIA) and the Ministry of Science and ICT said on May 28 they will push ahead with introducing WiFi 7 to public WiFi on city buses nationwide to help passengers use stable, ultra-high-speed wireless internet. Bus public WiFi provides free service and is intended to reduce telecom costs and improve access to digital services. Data usage reached 75,777TB in 2025, nearly double 38,728TB in 2023.

Solum enters Qatar electricity authority EV charger pilot project
Solum said on Wednesday it has entered a public-sector electric vehicle charger pilot project run by Qatar\'s electricity authority, Kahramaa. It said the project is the first case of a South Korean company taking part in Kahramaa’s proof-of-concept programme. The pilot involves one CHAEVI third-generation 180 kW fast charger equipped with Solum’s 30 kW power module, due to arrive in Qatar in early July after production and air shipment.

Financial investment industry joins energy-saving push with car use rotation and more remote work
South Korea\'s financial investment industry is stepping up energy-saving efforts in response to global energy supply-demand imbalances and rising prices. The Korea Financial Investment Association said securities firms, asset managers and other financial investment companies are participating. Measures include rotating car use, encouraging public transport, expanding remote work and flexible commuting systems. Companies are also cutting building power use by adjusting elevator and HVAC hours and switching off lights outside working hours.
