Cryptolab, KT to co-develop encrypted AI solution to automate medical insurance review

Cryptolab said on May 28 it signed a joint research and development agreement with KT to develop a medical multimodal agentic AI solution based on AI security technology. The companies aim to build a medical AI infrastructure that lets AI agents analyze and infer without exposing patient data externally by combining KT\'s security cloud infrastructure with Cryptolab\'s homomorphic encryption-based generative AI security middleware. They plan to develop a multimodal AI agent to support hospitals\' pre-review of insurance claims.

Kakao holds Kanana Scholar Colloquium with leading universities to discuss advancing AI

Kakao is strengthening industry-academia cooperation to advance its services by sharing the latest artificial intelligence technologies and research results with researchers from major South Korean universities. The company said it held the academic exchange program Kanana Scholar Colloquium on May 22 at its AI Campus in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province. Kakao introduced in-house model advancement research and discussed cooperation opportunities across key areas including foundation models, agentic AI, multimodal models and AI safety.

OpenAI faces two IPO dilemmas amid large losses and ChatGPT growth stall

OpenAI posted first-quarter revenue of $5.7 billion, helped by growth in its coding AI agent Codex, The Information reported, citing two people familiar with internal matters. The outlet said Anthropic appears to have retaken the lead and the gap could widen by year-end. While OpenAI is seen meeting its $30 billion revenue target, it faces a large loss structure and stalled growth in ChatGPT users, with an adjusted operating margin of minus 122 percent in the first quarter, sources said.
