KB Financial Group is pursuing a group-wide AI transformation (AX) with Google Cloud using generative AI and cloud technology. It plans to apply a data analysis agent that supports employee work and a conversational agent for customer consultations at financial sites.

KB Financial said on July 28 it will expand strategic cooperation with Google Cloud in AI and data.

The two companies will cooperate on AI-based work innovation and improving customer financial experiences, data-based decision-making and building an AI financial platform. They also plan to share technology and finance-related knowledge among specialist staff from both sides.

KB Financial has developed a data analysis AI agent, KB DAVIS, using Google Cloud's generative AI model Gemini.

KB DAVIS is a service that finds and analyses related data and then provides results when users ask questions in everyday language. It plans to expand its functions into a personalised AI work assistant that understands the user's work context and the intent of requests.

Employees can use KB DAVIS to search and analyse regulations and work manuals, product information and market data on a single platform.

In customer consultations, it will apply a conversational AI agent called KB Star Byeoli. KB Star Byeoli provides real-time natural language conversation based on multimodal AI technology that recognises voice, text and images together.

It provides financial consultation functions such as comparing financial products and guiding individual portfolios. It has currently completed internal testing and is set to be applied gradually at customer touchpoints.

KB Financial plans to apply real-time interpretation in about 70 languages to KB Star Byeoli and expand it into a finance-specialised multimodal AI platform that provides finance, economy and lifestyle information.

A KB Financial official said, "We will develop AI not as a simple work support tool but as a core foundation for building future financial services." The official added, "We plan to pursue both improved employee work and stronger customer financial experiences using AI."
