Woori Financial steps up productive, inclusive finance, chair vows not to miss \'golden time\'

Woori Financial Group held an April council meeting on financing for advanced strategic industries, chaired by Chairman Lim Jong-ryong (임종룡), to review first-quarter results and second-quarter tasks for its 80 trillion won Future Shared Growth Project. Participants agreed to speed up productive finance amid rising external uncertainty. The group also outlined inclusive finance measures, including loan rate caps and interest relief, and plans to complete a groupwide platform in May.

Ryu Je-myeong attends opening of regional digital education centre

Ryu Je-myeong (류제명), second vice minister at the Ministry of Science and ICT, visited Shinhan Bank’s Gwangju Financial Center on Monday to attend the opening ceremony of a digital finance education centre, “Shinhan Hakijae Gwangju,” and encouraged officials. The centre offers free hands-on digital device experiences and education to prevent financial crime such as voice phishing for digitally excluded groups including seniors. The ministry also runs AI Digital Learning Centres and cooperates with Shinhan Bank.

Dunamu hosts Senior Finance Golden Bell to prevent digital finance exclusion

Dunamu said on March 23 it had successfully completed “Challenge! Finance Golden Bell,” a digital finance education programme for seniors held from March 17 to 19. The programme is a public-private initiative run with the Senior Financial Education Council, a nonprofit public-interest foundation under the Financial Services Commission, and the Financial Supervisory Service. A total of 1,600 people aged 50 and older applied for the four online sessions.
