Hana Financial Group said on Monday it will recruit participants through March 13 for a preschool ESG finance education programme that provides software and financial education to "Hana Financial Group 100th childcare centres".

The programme was designed to improve digital access for young children and help encourage environmental protection and the formation of sound spending and saving habits. The education will target 500 children aged 4 to 5 who are enrolled at the Hana Financial Group 100th childcare centres.

Hana Financial plans to prioritise areas with low access to digital finance education and run the programme at a total of 50 sites.

Classes will be play-based lessons using robots. They include missions such as saving money, shopping and using a shopping basket, as well as tree-planting activities, donation activities and learning basic financial knowledge.

A Hana Financial official said the programme was planned to address imbalances in access to digital education that arise depending on household economic conditions or local environments. The official said the group will continue to pursue social contribution activities that grow with local communities through digital and financial education focused on childcare settings.
