Dunamu is joining hands with the Seoul Metropolitan Government to expand digital finance education for young people. The cooperation is aimed at supporting a correct understanding of digital assets and strengthening financial capabilities.

Dunamu, the operator of Upbit, said on Thursday it signed a memorandum of understanding with the Seoul Metropolitan Government to strengthen young people’s economic and financial capabilities and improve their understanding of digital assets.

Dunamu and Seoul agreed to build a digital finance education model in which the public and private sectors work together so young people can respond to issues such as finance, housing and asset building.

Seoul said its "Seoul youth statistics" released in June showed about 2.86 million young people live in the city, accounting for 30.5 percent of Seoul’s total population.

Seoul’s young population has recorded net inflows for three consecutive years, and the main reasons young people moved to Seoul were jobs and education.

Under the agreement, Dunamu and Seoul will combine Dunamu’s education content on digital assets and future finance with Seoul’s youth-policy infrastructure.

The education will cover topics including asset building, prevention of financial fraud, reasonable spending habits and understanding the future financial environment.

The two sides will first hold "Upclass education" for young people in Seoul at youth centers in the city in August.

The program will cover topics including bitcoin and blockchain, preventing digital asset scams, various digital asset investment methods, and the expansion of digital assets from stablecoins to real world assets (RWA).

They also plan to hold a "Youth Finance Golden Bell" event. It will be run as a quiz contest, and not only pre-registered young people but also citizens who visit the venue can take part.

Yoon Sun-joo (윤선주), Dunamu’s chief brand impact officer, said, "Based on our experience in youth financial education and understanding of the field accumulated while operating Upclass, we will support young people together with the Seoul Metropolitan Government."
