MakinaRocks develops anomaly detection AI solution for HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore welding robots

MakinaRocks said on Monday it has completed development of a physical AI-based anomaly detection model for welding robots with HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore. The project follows a memorandum of understanding signed last year on using AI to improve robot process efficiency, with a focus on rapidly applying AI at shipyard sites. The company said it used an approach based on normal operating data due to limited fault-history data.

KB Kookmin Bank nominates AI expert Professor Jung Yoon-kyung as outside director

KB Kookmin Bank nominated Jung Yoon-kyung (정윤경), a professor at Sungkyunkwan University, as a new outside director candidate to strengthen expertise in artificial intelligence and digital fields. The nomination follows the resignation of former outside director Moon Soo-bok. The bank said its outside director nomination committee selected Jung after multiple meetings and screening procedures. Jung is expected to be formally appointed after approval at an extraordinary shareholders meeting on July 23.

Nums AI raises 4 billion won to speed tabular foundation model development

Nums AI, which develops a Tabular Foundation Model for structured data, said on July 20 it has raised its first investment worth 4 billion won. Stonebridge Ventures led the round, with participation from SBVA, KT Investment and Base Ventures. The company said its model can cover tasks such as demand forecasting, anomaly detection and credit assessment with a single model, and plans to expand GPU infrastructure and its research organization.
