[Digital Today reporter Chi-gyu Hwang] The National Security Research Institute (NSR) will hold NSR Connect U 2026, a briefing on its commercialisation-ready technologies, on Aug. 12 from 1:30 p.m. at COEX Conference Room (South) 301 and Rooms 303 to 306 in Samseong-dong, Seoul.

The event was arranged to promote the transfer and commercialisation of NSR’s commercialisation-ready technologies in cybersecurity and to link research outcomes with technology demand in the industrial field. The Korea Technology Finance Corporation (KIBO), Korea Science & Technology Holdings (KST) and Seoul Technopark will also take part.

The event will feature presentations on seven commercialisation-ready technologies, including a virtual-network-based cyber crisis response training system and content technology; cybersecurity safety testing technology for industrial control systems; lightweight, low-cost EMP door and window design technology; anomaly detection in control system operation information and test data generation technology; a virtual-network-based real-time attack and defense cyber training platform technology; and technology dedicated to analysing Flutter Android apps.

NSR plans to go beyond simply introducing technologies through this event and to connect research outcomes with private companies’ commercialisation demand in practical terms. It also plans to expand the basis for cooperation so national R&D results can lead to the development of domestic industry and stronger corporate competitiveness.

An NSR official said many research outcomes are difficult to disclose externally due to the nature of research for national and public information security. The official added that it is also an important role to continuously identify strong technologies that can be used by the private sector and connect them with industry. The official said NSR plans to expand support for technology transfer and commercialisation so national R&D results can contribute to the development of domestic industry and strengthening the information security ecosystem.
