Synology, a global data management and security company, on Oct. 13 held Synology Solution Day 2026 at the Conrad Seoul hotel with about 550 customers and industry participants. It introduced its latest solutions supporting AI.
Held under the theme “Reassessing the value of data as the foundation of the AI era,” the event shared Synology’s strategy and technologies on how companies can store, protect and efficiently use data in the AI era.
Victor Wang (빅터 왕), head of Synology’s Korea business division, said the biggest challenge companies face in the AI era lies in the data that runs AI rather than the AI model itself. He said many companies are preparing to adopt AI, but the data infrastructure and management systems to support it are still not sufficiently ready.
He explained that Synology supports companies in building the data foundation needed for the AI era through integrated solutions covering data storage, management, protection, use and security.
At the event, Synology showcased its latest solutions spanning the full corporate data lifecycle, including data storage, protection, work productivity and smart video management.
In data storage, it announced the PAS7700 for core work environments and the GS3400, a scale-out system based on S3 object storage for large-scale unstructured data.
In data protection, it said it will expand the coverage of ActiveProtect to various virtualised environments, including public cloud and Nutanix AHV. It also plans to strengthen cyber resilience by identifying backup data and enabling rapid recovery through AI-based anomaly detection and automated restore functions in the future.
In work productivity, it presented an environment in which companies can collaborate while maintaining data sovereignty through Synology Office Suite, ChatPlus and Meet.
The event also introduced cases from South Korean companies that adopted Synology solutions. The Medical Imaging AI Research Lab at Asan Medical Center in Seoul integrated AI research data, multiple NAS systems and distributed authentication systems into a single infrastructure. Through LDAP and CMS, it centrally managed account permissions and NAS, and used Synology data recovery solutions to improve data usability and recovery efficiency among GPU servers.
ADTechnology built a petabyte-class archiving environment to respond to surging semiconductor design data and long-term retention needs. It said this cut storage costs per terabyte by about 50 percent and strengthened I/O processing for large-scale design data as well as backup and disaster recovery systems.
Daedong AI Lab integrated management of large volumes of video and image data generated during AI training for autonomous driving tractors and improved the efficiency of data sharing among multiple organisations. It also built a data protection and recovery system between Daegu and Seoul through cloud linkage and Hyper Backup.
Networking and security company Cisco Korea also participated and introduced Cisco Duo, a multi-factor authentication solution that can be linked with Synology NAS.
