Power supply emerges as biggest bottleneck to AI expansion as Altman infrastructure warning revisited
Power constraints are again in focus as a key bottleneck that could hinder the development of more powerful AI. As AI models advance, demand for data centres and computing resources is surging, but power generation and transmission infrastructure is harder to expand at the same pace. TechRadar revisited past remarks by OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, who warned that AI would consume far more energy than expected and called for breakthroughs including fusion and cheaper solar and storage.

RLWRLD partners with three South Korean robotics, simulation firms on physical AI
Physical AI company RLWRLD said on Thursday it signed separate MOUs with three South Korean robotics and simulation startups - PhysicsSimLab, Space AI and NdotLight. RLWRLD plans to upgrade DexBench, an open-source benchmark being developed with Nvidia to assess whether robots can perform complex tasks using their hands in industrial settings. NdotLight will build simulation assets, PhysicsSimLab will create a digital twin environment, and Space AI will develop tracks for deformable or fragile objects.

Hitachi Vantara\'s U.S. Norman manufacturing site named WEF Lighthouse factory
HS Hyosung Information Systems said Hitachi Vantara\'s storage manufacturing facility in Norman, Oklahoma, has been selected as a World Economic Forum Lighthouse factory. Lighthouse factories are manufacturing sites that deliver innovative results in productivity, supply chain resilience and sustainability using technologies such as AI and robotics. HS Hyosung said the site runs an end-to-end digital manufacturing and supply chain hub and cut lead time by 77 percent and inventory by 50 percent by applying agentic AI.
