AI and data infrastructure solutions company HS Hyosung Information Systems said on Sunday that its global partner Hitachi Vantara's storage manufacturing facility in Norman, Oklahoma, has been selected as a World Economic Forum (WEF) Lighthouse factory.

A Lighthouse factory refers to a manufacturing facility that has delivered innovative results in productivity, supply chain resilience and sustainability by using AI and robotics, among other technologies.

According to HS Hyosung Information Systems, the Norman facility is an end-to-end digital manufacturing and supply chain hub that covers the entire process from order intake to manufacturing and shipping. It implemented a "Customer Zero" strategy that applies innovative technologies on site and verifies results. AI technologies and know-how accumulated in the process have been reflected in HMAX (Hitachi Management Automation eXperience), a next-generation AI solution suite, and in data infrastructure solutions, supporting customers' AI transformation.

It also improved operational efficiency by applying agentic AI across manufacturing and supply chain operations, cutting total lead time from order to shipment by 77 percent and reducing inventory by 50 percent.

Yang Jung-kyu (양정규), CEO of HS Hyosung Information Systems, said that in the AI era, core competitiveness lies not only in data infrastructure performance but also in the ability to reliably store, manage and protect data and supply it on time. He said the Lighthouse factory selection was a case in which the Norman facility's AI-based manufacturing innovation and supply chain operating capabilities, as well as the reliability of data infrastructure including VSP One, were recognized globally. He added that HS Hyosung Information Systems will continue to support the entire process from building to operating and scaling companies' AI data foundations by organically combining AI infrastructure, data management and cloud solutions centered on VSP One and the HS Hyosung AI platform.
