Europe carmakers seek \'made in Europe\' breakthrough against cheap Chinese EVs
Renault Group\'s Romanian brand Dacia has moved production of its second-generation Spring electric car from China to Slovenia while keeping its Italian starting price at 17,900 euros. The top Journey trim also stays below 20,000 euros. The new Spring is a full redesign sharing a platform with the Renault Twingo E-Tech. It is larger than before and uses a single front motor with a 27.5 kWh LFP battery.

Mercedes new GLA electric images leak ahead of official unveiling
Images of Mercedes\' new GLA electric vehicle leaked online a day before its official unveiling. Electrek reported the automaker plans to reveal the model on July 29. The new EV will be renamed GLA Electric, replacing the EQA name, while the combustion version keeps the GLA badge. A leaked photo suggests changes to the grille and headlamps. The model is expected to use the MMA platform with an 800-volt system and an 85 kWh battery pack.

Genesis weighs entry-level EV priced in 44 million won range
Genesis is reviewing ways to expand into the mass market with a more affordable electric vehicle, keeping open the possibility of an entry-level model. Genesis executives leading its European business are assessing demand. A candidate is a model based on Hyundai Motor’s small electric hatchback Ioniq 3, using existing EV architecture rather than a new platform. Genesis says it is focusing on long-term growth, while its electrification strategy also includes hybrids and range-extended EVs.
