LG HelloVision Q2 operating profit 3 billion won, down 71.7 percent on year
LG HelloVision said second-quarter operating profit on a consolidated basis fell 71.7 percent from a year earlier to 3 billion won. Revenue dropped 31.3 percent to 243.3 billion won and net profit was 1.1 billion won. Sales fell 4.7 percent and operating profit slid 41.8 percent from the previous quarter. The company said a shrinking market for education smart-device rollouts and a slowdown in broadcasting and telecoms hurt performance.

Disney allies with TikTok to bring fan-made short videos to Disney+
Disney is working with TikTok to bring Disney-related fan content into the Disney+ app. The companies plan to start a pilot program in the United States in the coming months and then expand to other markets. Under the partnership, TikTok fan videos themed on Pixar, Marvel and Star Wars will appear in Disney+’s short-form feed, “Vurts.” Disney also launched a creator ambassador program for TikTok creators.

Wavve adds 20 binge-watch channels for tvN dramas and variety shows
Online video service Wavve said on July 27 it has added 20 binge-watch channels that schedule tvN dramas and variety shows around the clock. The new channels run specific titles continuously and are available to both paid subscribers and free members. Wavve earlier opened seven drama channels and added 13 variety channels. Some titles are offered both as VOD and via binge-watch channels. Wavve now operates 152 live channels, with 133 offered free via FAST.
