NC AI wins Hanwha Ocean contract for autonomous welding project for commercial and special-purpose ships

NC AI has won a Hanwha Ocean project to develop a vision-recognition welding model and a collaborative-robot autonomous welding model, it said on Wednesday. The project combines AI vision recognition with precision robot control for welding, a core shipbuilding process. The goal is a physical AI solution that identifies and judges weld areas and performs optimal welding in real time. The results are set to be applied to Hanwha Ocean’s commercial and special-purpose shipbuilding.

Nvidia unveils fast object-detection AI that reads photos, UI and documents

Nvidia has unveiled LocateAnything, an AI model designed to rapidly detect objects in photos and screenshots and identify UI elements and text locations in applications and documents. The company describes it as a vision-language model specialised for high-speed detection. Nvidia says demonstrations show fast identification and finer distinctions than Qwen3-VL and REX-Omni, including repeated objects and text recognition. It released the model openly via Hugging Face and provides a separate demo app.

NC AI wins national defense Physical AI project, to lead world model development

NC AI said on May 28 it was selected as the final project operator for a national R&D project ordered by the Agency for Defense Development on a Physical AI-based integrated simulator and modular robot system, in a consortium with Hyundai Rotem. The project aims to integrate control of multiple unmanned robots and build a digital twin simulator and modular robot hardware. NC AI will oversee development of a world model technology.
