Lenovo Korea said on Monday it is working with document AI specialist Lomin to launch the Lomin Redact AI Appliance, an integrated solution that combines AI-based personal data de-identification technology with AI infrastructure.

The company said the Lomin Redact AI Appliance integrates AI computing infrastructure, de-identification software and an operating environment based on Lenovo ThinkSystem servers and Nvidia GPUs.

Customers can carry out personal data detection and de-identification in on-premises or closed-network environments without exporting sensitive source data. Lenovo Korea stressed that the solution combines Lomin's AI-based personal data de-identification solution, Lomin Redact, and focuses on reducing the complexity of building infrastructure needed to adopt AI in regulated industries such as finance and the public sector where data location and access control are important.

It added that by using VLM (Vision Language Model) technology to analyse document layouts and text as well as context, the solution can detect structured patterns as well as unstructured personal data and sensitive information.

Lenovo Korea plans to expand enterprise AI use cases that combine AI infrastructure with specialised domestic AI software through the partnership.
