Ivy League schools bring back paper exams amid ChatGPT-era cheating
Roughly two years after generative AI became widely used, AI-assisted cheating spread quickly at Stanford University, prompting the school to reintroduce in-person exams in April after banning them for more than a century. Reports described students using AI in various schemes and in academic dishonesty. A campus survey of 849 computer science students found 49 percent would rather cheat than fail. Similar moves were reported at Princeton University.

Uber says it is no longer just a ride-hailing app, pushes into travel and lodging
Uber has introduced a feature that lets users book hotels directly in its app, expanding beyond ride-hailing into broader travel services, TechCrunch reported on April 29. The company unveiled the feature at its annual Go-Get event in New York and partnered with Expedia Group to support bookings at more than 700,000 hotels worldwide. Uber One members can receive discounts at select hotels and earn Uber credits. Uber also rolled out AI voice booking and other travel-related tools.

Uber launches item return service on Uber Eats app, courier picks up from home
Uber has added a service to its Uber Eats app that lets customers return items they bought from home, TechCrunch reported on Thursday. Users can select an option in their order history to return an item with a courier, with fees based on travel time and distance. The service covers only eligible retail items bought on Uber Eats and follows each store’s return policy. Only items priced at $20 or more can be returned.
