Heybike unveils Titan moped-style e-bike

Heybike is launching a moped-style electric bicycle with full suspension and dual-battery options as part of a low-price strategy. The new Titan starts at $1,499 for a single-battery version and $1,799 for a dual-battery model, with preorder prices of $1,399 and $1,699. It uses a 750W rear hub motor and supports higher top speeds through the Heybike app. Range varies from up to 40 miles to 80 miles depending on battery configuration.

Tern unveils new HSD compact cargo e-bike

E-bike brand Tern has unveiled a new compact cargo electric bike, the HSD, aimed at replacing short car trips in cities. The model features a redesigned frame with a longer wheelbase and lower centre of gravity, and supports a 190-kg gross vehicle weight and up to 80 kg on the rear rack. It uses Bosch’s fifth-generation electric system and offers accessory options. The lineup has four models, starting at $4,999.

Samsung SDI becomes first to prove fire safety of UPS batteries worldwide

Samsung SDI said on Monday its uninterruptible power supply batteries became the first in the world to meet all evaluation criteria in an indoor large-scale fire test overseen by certification body UL Solutions. The test checks whether a fire in a battery module spreads to adjacent racks or systems. Samsung SDI said the ignited module burned out but caused no fire spread, gas release, explosion or rupture, and self-extinguished without sprinklers.
