E-bike brand Juiced Bikes is returning to the market with two new e-bikes. It is keeping its existing strength in high-power moped-style e-bikes while reinforcing price competitiveness and safety specifications in a renewed push to rebuild its presence.
Electrek, an electric-vehicle specialist outlet, reported on May 5 that Juiced unveiled the Scrambler Hardtail and the Scrambler Full Suspension as its first new products since being acquired by Lectric eBikes.
Both models are equipped with a 750W rear hub motor and, paired with a 30A controller, support peak output of more than 1,700W. Speed settings can be adjusted in Class 1, 2 and 3 modes, and the top speed reaches 28 miles per hour, about 45 km per hour.
Battery capacity is also relatively large for the segment. Both products use a 52V 19.2Ah battery, providing capacity of about 1 kWh. The hardtail model can be expanded to about 2 kWh with a dual-battery upgrade.
Its pricing strategy is also aggressive. The Scrambler Hardtail starts at $1,699, and the full-suspension model starts at $1,899. The outlet assessed that, compared with Super73 products with similar specifications, the new models are about $700 to $1,100 cheaper.
The key differentiator of the new products is strengthened safety features. Juiced newly applied a "guardian control mode" that allows parents to limit the top speed with a passcode. It is a feature that reflects a recent increase in teenage users. The display was also changed from an externally mounted handlebar design to an integrated structure, reducing the risk of damage.
Braking performance has also been enhanced. Both models come standard with 4-piston hydraulic disc brakes. It is a high-end specification that is often offered as an add-on option or omitted in the industry. The battery system received UL safety certification, and the frame also met related safety standards.
The suspension setup has also been upgraded. The Scrambler lineup uses a 140 mm-travel KKE inverted front suspension, and the full-suspension model adds a rear shock absorber. Juiced explained that it designed the bikes to improve ride comfort for urban riding while also being able to handle some off-road environments.
A long warranty period is also a differentiator. Juiced is offering a 3-year warranty for this lineup. Given that a 1-year warranty is common in the industry and even 2 years is considered relatively long, the outlet said the terms were unusual.
Electrek analysed the relaunch as an example of Lectric's strategy of offering better performance at a lower price than rivals being applied to the Juiced brand. Juiced chose to focus on high-power moped-style e-bikes, its area of strength, rather than an entirely new form, reinforcing performance and price competitiveness at the same time.
The industry expects competition in the moped-style e-bike market to intensify further with the new releases. Attention is focused on whether Juiced can use price-to-performance as a weapon to expand market share again among existing companies that have emphasised style and brand image.
