Hyundai Motor\'s electric SUV Ioniq 5 recorded a lower total cost than a gasoline SUV on a long-distance trip in New York using only public fast charging, an analysis showed. InsideEVs said the 560-mile round trip from New York City cost $620 including rental, charging and tolls. A gasoline SUV topped $750, while a hybrid crossover exceeded $700. The test used an older AWD model with a 77 kWh battery and a CCS port.
