Wemade signs publishing deal with Madngin for new \'Night Crows\' title, targets launch this year

Wemade will unveil a new title using the intellectual property of its hit game \'Night Crows\' within the year. The company said it signed a publishing contract with Madngin and has begun preparations for launch, targeting a global one-build release this year. The new game will be an MMORPG playable on PC and mobile. Wemade also aims to launch the original \'Night Crows\' in China this year.

KakaoPay supports QR subway ticket payments in Busan

KakaoPay will take part in simple payments for Busan Metro mobile tickets, enabling passengers to scan QR codes at stations to buy single-ride tickets on smartphones. KakaoPay said it will introduce dynamic QR mobile ticket payments at major stations with Busan Transportation Corp and security QR solution firm Arch Seoul. Payment methods include credit and debit cards and simple payments, with KakaoPay the only domestic service supported.

Kakao Games eyes turnaround with management shake-up and new game push ahead of new top shareholder

Kakao Games is moving to replace its management ahead of a change in its largest shareholder from Kakao to an investment vehicle funded by Line Yahoo. The company plans to appoint two internal directors who are expected to become co-CEOs and to name a non-executive director from Petrico Partners. It also outlined five new game releases from the third quarter through year-end as it seeks a turnaround after six consecutive quarterly losses.
