Kakao marks two years of fair trade compliance program, steps up companywide embedding
Kakao marked the second anniversary of introducing its fair trade compliance program, reviewing performance and outlining plans to strengthen it in the second half of the year. The company said it will further refine operations with a focus on practical use and share results with all employees. Kakao has updated rules and operating systems, built a risk assessment framework and opened a fair trade page on its sustainability site. It also expanded employee training and plans participation events and awards.

SKT steps up AX support for startups to offer A.X K1 API
SK Telecom said it will support artificial intelligence transformation projects by providing an API for its in-house AI model, A.X K1, to help Korean startups develop AI services. The company said it joined the Ministry of SMEs and Startups-led 2026 Everyone’s Challenge AX-LLM and will collaborate with three startups. SKT said it selected Teamlimited, Purcelli and Devall Company after screening with outside experts.

Kakao expands AI training for NGO activists
Kakao said on Wednesday it is recruiting participants for its KakaoTech NGO AI Class to help improve artificial intelligence capabilities of activists at domestic non-profit groups. The programme expands an AI training project previously run for small business owners. Kakao plans to select 100 participants from 50 groups, with applications open through Aug. 9. Training will be held offline over two days at its Pangyo site, with introductory and advanced courses.
