Delivery platform companies have expanded the framework for shared growth cooperation into the institutional arena. Woowa Brothers, operator of Baedal Minjok, said it signed a business agreement on Thursday at the Commission for Corporate Shared Growth in Jung-gu, Seoul, to participate in a "Delivery Platform Co-prosperity Assessment". Lee Dal-gon (이달곤), the commission's chairman, and key officials from 3 delivery platform companies attended.

The agreement was made to create a sustainable ecosystem for the delivery industry. Baemin previously said it would voluntarily participate in the "Online Platform Co-prosperity Assessment" under a pilot evaluation plan for the finance, defence industry and online platform sectors announced by the commission on June 16. The signing ceremony formalised that decision, and 3 delivery platform companies sat together to reaffirm their will to cooperate for shared growth.

The agreement will launch a full-fledged co-prosperity assessment process for Baemin. The company will have its efforts for shared growth for merchants on the platform and riders reviewed. The company said it plans to continuously reflect the assessment results in refining and advancing its shared growth policies.

Lee, the commission chairman, called it meaningful that the 3 delivery platform companies were the first to express their intention to participate. "It is very meaningful that the 3 delivery platform companies first reached out and promised shared growth cooperation," Lee said. "We will spare no support so that an ecosystem of shared growth cooperation, in which delivery platforms and merchants on the platforms grow together, can take root," he said.

Kim Joong-hyun (김중현), head of sustainability management at Woowa Brothers, set out the company's resolve on the agreement. "I hope this agreement becomes a foundation for all stakeholders in the delivery industry to achieve shared growth," Kim said. "We will do our best to establish ourselves as a company that grows together with our merchant partners and riders and contributes to customers' convenience in daily life," he said.
