AI data centre thermal management council launched to support next-generation cooling technology cooperation

The Korea Institute of Science and Technology held an inauguration ceremony and symposium for the 2026 AI Data Centre Thermal Management Council in Seoul on Wednesday. About 300 people from more than 45 industry, university and research institutions attended, including Samsung Electronics, SK Hynix and LG Electronics. The council aims to standardise thermal management technologies for AI data centres and set roadmaps, test and reliability criteria, and joint demonstration projects.

KB Kookmin Bank nominates AI expert Professor Jung Yoon-kyung as outside director

KB Kookmin Bank nominated Jung Yoon-kyung (정윤경), a professor at Sungkyunkwan University, as a new outside director candidate to strengthen expertise in artificial intelligence and digital fields. The nomination follows the resignation of former outside director Moon Soo-bok. The bank said its outside director nomination committee selected Jung after multiple meetings and screening procedures. Jung is expected to be formally appointed after approval at an extraordinary shareholders meeting on July 23.

MegazoneCloud to work with Sungkyunkwan University anchor program to expand AI, quantum ecosystem

AI and cloud company MegazoneCloud said on July 15 it will work with Sungkyunkwan University’s regional growth talent development program, known as the Anchor Program, on industry-academia cooperation in AI and quantum fields. The two sides will build cooperation networks, train specialists, promote technology development and commercialisation, and support companies’ use of AI and quantum technologies. They will also run public basic AI-quantum education courses on July 20 and 21 with Seoul AI Hub.
