Gu Hyeok-chae (구혁채), first vice minister of the Ministry of Science and ICT, visited Sungkyunkwan University's startup incubator in Suwon on July 3. He reviewed innovative technologies and held a meeting with young entrepreneurs.
The visit marked the 20th step in "Project Gonggam118," aimed at implementing field-focused science and technology policy. Gu looked at sites where university lab成果 lead to startups and listened to young entrepreneurs.
Gu visited startups based in the incubator, including Mimetics and Crois. In the meeting that followed, he heard the views of young entrepreneurs and discussed ways to support the growth of early-stage deeptech companies with investment institutions affiliated with the deeptech commercialisation consultative body (NEST_.
Gu said the ministry would actively support young researchers so they can fully demonstrate their capabilities and take on deeptech startups, and continue to grow within the startup ecosystem to become innovative companies.
