AI and cloud company MegazoneCloud said on July 15 it will launch industry-academia cooperation in AI and quantum fields with Sungkyunkwan University’s regional growth talent development program (Anchor Program), headed by Choi Jae-bung (최재붕).

The two sides agreed to jointly pursue building industry-academia cooperation networks, training specialists, promoting technology development and commercialisation, and supporting companies’ use of AI and quantum technologies.

They plan to set up and run an AI-quantum industry-academia cooperation network and consultative body. They also plan to join forces to build a global industry-academia cooperation network. The two sides will jointly plan and run education programs for AI-quantum specialists and workers in related fields, and pursue AI- and quantum-based technology development and commercialisation.

They also agreed to work together on supporting corporate AX (AI transformation) and QX (quantum transformation), on proof-of-concept projects and on running support programs for regional companies.

MegazoneCloud and the Anchor Program will step up specific joint projects immediately after signing the agreement. The two sides will jointly run basic AI-quantum convergence education for the general public on July 20 and 21 with Seoul AI Hub.

MegazoneCloud CQO Kim Dong-ho (김동호) said, "As AI and quantum emerge as technologies that change the industrial paradigm, the importance of convergence talent and industry-academia-research cooperation that can apply the two technologies in the field is growing."
