AI-focused M&A gains pace as big cloud firms step up security expansion

M&A activity is picking up as the security industry reshapes around AI. Databricks is acquiring AI-based cyberattack detection startup Panther Labs, its third cybersecurity deal this year after Antimatter and SiftD. Identity security firm SailPoint Technologies is buying AI agent security startup Entro Security. SoftBank launches new cybersecurity product based on OpenAI model

SoftBank Group has launched a new cybersecurity product based on an OpenAI model, Reuters reported on June 16. The product, called “Patching as a Service,” will be launched in Japan through a joint venture set up by SoftBank Corp and OpenAI in November last year. The two companies have jointly developed AI system integration services for Japanese firms. Masayoshi Son said the initiative would protect Japan’s core infrastructure.

Asia tech stocks rally on U.S.-Iran war-end deal, SoftBank jumps 12 percent
