SoftBank Group has launched a new cybersecurity product based on an OpenAI model, Reuters reported on June 16.
“Patching as a Service” will be launched in Japan through a joint venture established by SoftBank subsidiary SoftBank Corp and OpenAI in November last year.
SoftBank and OpenAI have jointly developed AI system integration services for Japanese companies.
Masayoshi Son (손정의), chairman and CEO of SoftBank Group, said at a presentation for corporate customers in Tokyo, “We will build a system that can protect Japan’s core infrastructure. We will use a new weapon called OpenAI for defense.”
Junichi Miyakawa (미야카와 준이치), CEO of SoftBank Corp, said about 50 people are currently working on the product launch and the company plans to increase staffing to about 1,000.
