AI chatbots spark \'emotional cheating\' debate as users share relationship worries
Cases are increasing in which AI chatbots effectively act as a third party in dating and marriages, as more users seek emotional counselling and relationship advice from AI. Surveys show young adults using chatbots for support and sharing secrets they have not told people. Experts warn chatbots’ tendency to agree can reduce accountability and weaken skills needed to sustain relationships. Some partners may perceive such use as betrayal, though some users say AI can help prepare for difficult conversations.
