KT to build high-performance AI network at HD Hyundai Samho shipyard, test physical AI
KT will build a high-performance AI network at HD Hyundai Samho\'s shipyard in Yeongam, South Jeolla province, and test physical AI technologies such as AI welding robots. KT said it discussed ways to apply physical AI robots during an on-site inspection of the Ministry of Science and ICT project to build a high-performance AI network. The network will apply 5G standalone, network slicing, GPU-based AI computing infrastructure, AI-RAN and autonomous network technology.

Lee Jong-kwan (이종관), a senior expert member at Shin & Kim, called for a reorientation of media policy toward sustainability and regionality to secure cable TV’s future. He said cable TV provides low-cost live broadcasting and supports broadcast access for one-third of South Koreans, giving it a strong universal service character. He cited declining revenues and profits for system operators since 2013 alongside rising content fees.

Discussions are gaining pace in South Korea on enacting a Basic Financial Security Act to guarantee financial access for low-income and low-credit groups. A policy forum in parliament reviewed legal and policy tasks, outcomes of existing programmes, overseas systems and potential economic and social effects. Proposals call for expanding policy-based finance beyond funding to link counselling, debt adjustment, recovery, self-reliance and asset building through a one-stop support system.
