KT said on Oct. 15 it signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency to spread a safety culture at industrial sites and narrow safety gaps between workplaces.

The signing ceremony was held on the day at KT's Gwanghwamun Building West in Seoul's Jongno district. The two organisations agreed to cooperate on spreading a safety culture, delivering safety messages to the public and identifying corporate best practices on safety, using the agency's industrial safety expertise and KT's telecommunications infrastructure.

They will first work with regional safety culture promotion teams to raise safety awareness among workers in the telecommunications industry and partner companies, and support participation by small businesses that need stronger safety management.

KT will also use its online and offline customer touchpoints and other infrastructure, including business vehicles. It plans to deliver safety-related messages and content through various channels and, in connection with major events such as the Month of Industrial Safety and Health, to identify and share companies' best safety practices.

The agreement will run for 2 years from the signing date. The two organisations plan to specify detailed cooperation tasks and 추진 them in stages.

Kim Young-in (김영인), executive vice president and chief safety and health officer at KT, said it would actively cooperate so that a safety culture can spread at industrial sites and in the daily lives of the public by using KT's telecommunications infrastructure and various public touchpoints.

Kim Hyun-joong (김현중), chairman of the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency, expressed his intention to work to spread a safety culture across industrial sites and society at large through cooperation with KT.
