Power grid delays put Yongin semiconductor cluster investment at risk

The Yongin semiconductor cluster can supply only about 1.9 gigawatts of power on its own, far short of the 15 to 16 gigawatts needed for full operation, a report by the National Assembly Research Service showed. Korea Electric Power is 추진ing a 37.0 billion won, 1,153-km transmission project but its planned completion by 2036 is uncertain. National Growth Fund to invest 250 billion won in NPU fabless Rebellion

South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT and the Financial Services Commission said on March 26 they approved a 250 billion won direct investment from the Advanced Strategic Industries Fund into AI semiconductor fabless company Rebellion. The deal is the fourth first-phase mega-project under the \'K-Nvidia fostering\' initiative and the first to use direct equity investment. The capital will be provided via redeemable convertible preferred shares.
