KT to build high-performance AI network at HD Hyundai Samho shipyard, test physical AI

KT will build a high-performance AI network at HD Hyundai Samho\'s shipyard in Yeongam, South Jeolla province, and test physical AI technologies such as AI welding robots. KT said it discussed ways to apply physical AI robots during an on-site inspection of the Ministry of Science and ICT project to build a high-performance AI network. The network will apply 5G standalone, network slicing, GPU-based AI computing infrastructure, AI-RAN and autonomous network technology.

South Korea to expand physical AI with AI-RAN; manufacturing trials to start in earnest

South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT is applying intelligent base stations, known as AI-RAN, to shipbuilding, petrochemicals and automotive manufacturing sites to test physical AI services. The ministry visited HD Hyundai Samho\'s shipyard in Yeongam to inspect trials under its high-performance AI network programme. KT and SK Telecom-led consortia were selected to build high-performance AI networks at industrial sites and test AI robots and services.

U.S. Clarity Act may be last real chance this year; failure could push it to 2030

The U.S. Senate is moving to take up the Clarity Act, a cryptocurrency market-structure bill, but analysts warn failure to pass it this year could increase the chances it is redesigned in the new Congress in 2027 or effectively scrapped. A cloture vote is set for Sept. 15 and will require 60 votes, including some Democratic support. Lawmakers face a shrinking legislative calendar and uncertainty over control after November midterm elections.
