Contradictions seen in AI opposition as users reject data centres but keep using services
Criticism has emerged that people opposing construction of AI data centres still actively use AI services. Cyrus Beschloss, CEO of AI data marketplace Verb, said even those who claim to oppose data centres and AI use AI in practice. He said choosing between halting data centre construction and giving up ChatGPT would not be easy. Growing dependence on AI could deepen social conflict over expanding data centres, critics say.

Global CIOs: 84 percent say IT teams cannot keep pace with AI agent rollout
More than 8 in 10 chief information officers worldwide say their IT organisations cannot keep up with the spread of AI agents inside companies, a survey showed. Dataiku and Harris Poll said 84 percent reported employees are developing AI agents and applications faster than IT can manage. Many cited missing standards for AI agent lifecycle management and gaps in centralised governance. Most also lacked mature systems to measure AI investment returns.

Delta CEO denies feud with Musk after choosing Amazon over Starlink
Delta Air Lines CEO Ed Bastian denied reports of a public feud with Tesla CEO Elon Musk after Musk criticised Delta’s decision on inflight internet. Bastian said he was a fan of Starlink, viewed Musk’s work positively and drove a Tesla. Delta in March chose Amazon’s LEO service over SpaceX’s Starlink. Musk amplified unverified quotes shared on X and mocked Delta’s internet quality in later posts.
