Idemia partners with KT to support 2026 quantum-resistant cryptography pilot transition project

Idemia Secure Transactions said on Oct. 26 it will support a 2026 pilot transition project on quantum-resistant cryptography in which KT is participating. Under the project, Idemia will implement U.S. NIST-standardised and Korean quantum-resistant cryptography algorithms on a smart card platform applying quantum-resistant SIMs. It said the work will help protect defence communications systems by preparing for threats that could emerge as quantum computing advances.

MSIT to expand quantum communications testbed to support commercialisation and overseas expansion

South Korea will expand its quantum communications demonstration base to support commercialisation and overseas expansion of domestic technology. The Ministry of Science and ICT said it held a kickoff briefing on the open quantum testbed upgrade and expansion project with the National Information Society Agency. The project will add three hubs for commercial, overseas and future uses from 2026 to 2028, with 7.4 billion won to be invested this year.

MSIT, KISA discuss follow-up cybersecurity cooperation after South Korea-Mongolia summit

The Korea Internet & Security Agency is holding a South Korea-Mongolia cybersecurity cooperation programme in Ulaanbaatar from Oct. 5 to 7 with the Ministry of Science and ICT. The two sides will share policies, technologies and response cases for critical ICT infrastructure, cyber threats tied to the spread of AI, and trends and applications of post-quantum cryptography. They will also introduce South Korean security firms’ technologies and services to Mongolian agencies and companies.
