The Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA) is holding a "South Korea-Mongolia Cybersecurity Cooperation Programme" in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, for three days from Oct. 5 to 7 with the Ministry of Science and ICT.

The two countries will share cyber security policies, technologies and response cases for key information and communications infrastructure, as well as cyber threats and response cases linked to the spread of artificial intelligence. They will also share domestic and overseas technology trends and application cases for post-quantum cryptography (PQC) and discuss the potential for future technical exchanges. They will introduce South Korean information security companies' technologies and services to related Mongolian agencies and companies and explore possibilities for technical cooperation and business links.

Experts from CAMP CyberNet, a global network of cybersecurity experts launched in July by KISA and the ministry, will also take part. They are expected to share overseas policy and technology cases and expertise and provide related advice.

KISA and the ministry plan to continue follow-up talks with local agencies based on Mongolia's cybersecurity issues and needs identified through the programme.

Oh Jin-young (오진영), head of KISA's AI Security Industry Division, said that as AI and digital transformation expand, strengthening security capabilities and cooperation between countries to respond to new cyber threats is becoming more important. She said KISA will continue to support efforts to expand cybersecurity policy and technology exchanges with Mongolia through the programme and ensure cooperation between the two countries can lead to overseas expansion opportunities for information security companies.
