Jiran Jigyo Security said on Sept. 17 it will step up its quantum-safe transition business and launch an execution project for it called the Q-BRIDGE project.

Jiran Jigyo Security plans to expand beyond applying PQC at the product level. It will broaden its scope to a quantum transition business covering customers' overall encryption environments, based on its existing security software products, customer touchpoints and security business capabilities.

The company said Q-BRIDGE is not limited to adopting a specific PQC technology or product. It is a project to specify and execute what to transition, and in what order, in a customer's encryption environment. It said Q-BRIDGE will proceed step by step from diagnosing crypto assets to technology linkage and actual transition.

In the Discover stage, passive and active Crypto Discovery will make visible the crypto assets and risk factors currently in use and derive transition priorities. In the Connect stage, it will link technologies and products by field needed for the quantum-safe transition. In the Transition stage, it will pursue a phased transition, taking into account compatibility with existing systems, performance and business continuity.

Jiran Jigyo Security has also formed a "K-Quantum Transition Technology and Business Council" to link expert capabilities across each technology area needed for quantum transition into a single transition system. Participants include KAIST, ICTK, Hanbit SI, BigO, Uniqi and Jiran Jigyo Security.

Jiran Jigyo Security will serve as the overall control tower for the business, and KAIST will provide advice on quantum-resistant cryptography technology and transition business. ICTK will develop PQC and PUF-based cryptography and security infrastructure and verify interoperability. Hanbit SI will handle network traffic collection and distribution and quality verification. BigO will verify interoperability and performance of PQC-based authentication and access technologies. Uniqi will be responsible for PQC and PKI toolkits and CA software.

The council plans to go beyond separately providing the technologies and products held by each participating organisation. It aims to link and verify technologies needed for quantum transition, from crypto asset diagnostics to cryptography and security infrastructure, networks, authentication and access, and PKI, to specify a transition model that can be applied to actual customer environments.

Sang-jun Lee (이상준), CTO of Jiran Jigyo Security, said, "As interest and expectations for quantum technology rise, it is now important to connect expectations about the technology itself to solutions and transition systems that customers can actually adopt." He said, "By combining the security software and customer and business capabilities Jiran Jigyo Security has accumulated with technologies from academia and specialised companies in each field, we will specify an actionable quantum transition model rather than remaining at research and technology verification."
